Today the CESA Project Team and the local Implementation Team visited the St Francis of Assisi building site for a tour of the building site. It was wonderful to see the hard work and planning coming to fruition!
Bishop Karol Kulczycki, Bishop of the Diocese of Pt. Pirie, visited St James School on Friday 14th May, for the first time since his installation as a Bishop. He was accompanied by Mrs Nichii Mardon, Director of Catholic Education in Port Pirie Diocese. A Bishop’s visit is a special occasion for any school as he is the spiritual leader and guide for the Diocese. He was welcomed by staff and students at a morning tea and special Assembly. He spoke about his childhood, his time as a Priest and his role as a Bishop.
Recently students Macy Venning, Harvie Bourke, Trae Wellgreen and Alexis Costello and Principal Michelle Miller were fortunate to have a guided tour of the 7-9 building site. They met with Michael Feeney (building site supervisor), David Angus and Denis Kalivaci (ICM Building Company) and Tim Hastwell (Architect).
Bishop Karol visited St Mark’s College. He was accompanied by the Director of Catholic Education Mrs Nichii Mardon and we were very excited about seeing them. They were able to meet students from Bosco and Benedict.
St Mary MacKillop School in Wallaroo had the pleasure of hosting a visit by Bishop Karol Kulczycki and Mrs Nichii Mardon. They were able to visit our school in 2020 for our end of year Mass and it was lovely to welcome them again when they were able to stay for longer and visit all of the classrooms and have morning tea with the staff.
On the 30th March, we warmly welcomed Bishop Karol and Director, Nichii Mardon to our school. School Captains, Caitlin & Shelby greeted our special guests upon arrival and led them to our Hall where we held a whole school assembly.
The site that is becoming St Francis of Assisi College, the new Years 7 to 12 Catholic secondary school for the Riverland has been officially blessed and welcomed into the Riverland community.
Bishop Karol joined Nichii Mardon at St Joseph’s Renmark for the opening of the Tenison Woods Centre, their new STEAM building, on St Joseph’s feast day. Bishop Karol presided over an opening liturgy and ceremony, where he blessed the building and Nichii unveiled the plaque with the name.
