Bishop Karol and Nichii Mardon visit St Joseph's School Peterborough

31.03.21

On the 30th March, we warmly welcomed Bishop Karol and Director, Nichii Mardon to our school. School Captains, Caitlin & Shelby greeted our special guests upon arrival and led them to our Hall where we held a whole school assembly.

Students shared some history of our town, church, and school to help the Bishop get to know Peterborough and St Joseph's a little better. We watched a video from our students that shared some reflections about why they love our school, what Jesus teaches them, why St Mary MacKillop & St Joseph are special to them and what excites them. Bishop Karol addressed the students, sharing some information about himself and his role as Bishop. The children were then invited to ask questions, of which a vast variety were asked from 'what is your favourite colour?' to 'what is your favourite Bible passage'. All questions were answered with great insight!

A tour of the school followed the assembly and visits to the classrooms occurred with Bishop Karol interacting with students. The visit ended with a shared lunch with staff.
