On Friday 16 November Greg Hay, Principal of St Mark’s College, welcomed guests to the official opening of the John Mullin Science Centre and the Sports Complex.  The buildings were  blessed by Bishop Gregory O’Kelly SJ.  Mr Hay spoke extended gratitude to all those who had contributed to the work and also to the staff of St Mark’s College who helped shape and create a vision.

John Mullin a past Deputy Principal was honoured for his 50 years association with science teaching and leadership in the school. He spoke with  beautiful humility, a sense of gratitude and a clear love of all of his students. Mr Mullin was a a chemist who became a teacher, who had a passion for the subject, taught with consistency and impacted on generations of school students.

St Mark’s now has a Sports Centre and a Science Centre which calls students to mystery, rich learning and standards of excellence. These facilities complement the extensive building program that has been undertaken at St Mark’s College in recent years and adds to the contemporary, community-oriented learning environment that is evident across the whole school.
